The minority holding changes hands.
Not forgetting the mission which has motivated the family for several generations - to be at the service of the region - Michel INCHAUSPE therefore adopted a strategy conforming to this ideal: to center itself on the home ground, the Basque Country, Bearn and Bigorre.
In 1982, totalling more than a billion Francs in deposits, the Banque Vernes et Commerciale de Paris was nationalized. The capital of BAMI was then distributed in the following way: 3% of shares were held by the personnel, 20% by the Banque Vernes et Commerciale de Paris, 77% by the family group. On entering the group Indosuez, the Bankque Vernes et Commerciale de Paris was then sold to one of the leading Italian banking groups, : l'Istituto SAN PAOLO di TORINO, which received the 20% holding in the capital of BAMI.
Over the last ten years, the Banque Auxiliare Michel INCHAUSPE has greatly developed. Its network of nine branches has filled out : the opening of the BORDEAUX branch in 1991 has enabled the bank to add a regional dimension to its operations and, thanks to its collaboration with the Bank SAN PAOLO, to access the international scene.
