The House of Inchauspé sets itself up in the banking profession.
The Bank of France requires the creation of a banking establishment.

It was in 1914 that the first real banking operations took place.

In order to finance the war effort, the State had financial requirements.

Jean-Léon INCHAUSPE actively participated in the collection of national borrowing of gold.

Following Armistice, Jean-Leon's two sons, Louis and Jean, installed the first bank-teller's post with counter, safe and window in the family home in Saint Jean-Pied-de-Port. Rudimentary and rather convivial as it was inside the house and had no outside sign, this post remained operational under these conditions until 1960. With Louis and Jean, the INCHAUSPE bank began to get organized.

Until 1942, the bank was part of a commercial group with different activities such as trading in cloth, wool processing, etc.

It was when the Bank of France required that the activities be separated that the Banque INCHAUSPE became a separate entity under the name of " Banque Veuve Leon INCHAUSPE and Company " (or "Widow of Leon INCHAUSPE and Company ").
